Mental Health Week 2025

 Today is a grey day

A don’t-want-to-play day

A please-go-away day

They come now and then

A what’s-it-about? day

A scream-and-a-shout day

A just-stick-it-out day

Today’s not my friend

As the week draws to an end for Children’s Mental Health Week, we at STOC believe it is just the beginning.  Our children’s mental health and well-being is an integral part of everyday life here at STOC.  We want our children to be happy and flourish and have the courage to be who they deserve to be. Its vitally important that children are listened too and are given the right tools to make their lives happy and fulfilled.

The children participated in lots of well-being activities; listening and making music, computer work, mindful colouring… to name a few.    Place2Be is a children and young people's mental health charity providing counselling, mental health support, and training in UK schools. Place2Be, believe that no child or young person should not have to face mental health problems alone.

Yesterday the children wore  ”what makes them happy”.  There were some great outfits, a karate kit, princesses, lots of football shirts and just generally bright and cheerful clothes.  Today they had a well-being afternoon; colouring mindfulness pictures with pens, paints and pastels.  They’ve made certificates to praise each other. They listened to smooth and calming music and they have drawn pictures of the things that make them happy!  To top the day off they had an amazing Assembly presented by Miss Marc.

It's been a great week!
