Year 3 - National History Museum
The Museum is a world-class visitor attraction and a leading science research centre. We use our unique collections and unrivalled expertise to tackle the biggest challenges facing the world today. We care for more than 80 million objects spanning billions of years and welcome more than five million visitors annually.

Our lovely year 3 children had an amazing day visiting the National History Museum and got to see Dippy the Dinosaur who has returned to his rightful place at the Museum entrance! Dippy is a replica of a Diplodocus skeleton and is world-famous. The children are learning about Prehistoric Britain, in particular the work of Mary Anning. Mary Anning was a famous fossil hunter and collector from the 19th century. Over the course of her life she made many incredible discoveries in her home town of Lyme Regis and became famous throughout the scientific world. Today, Mary is remembered as one of the greatest fossil hunters to have ever lived.
It was a real treat to see first-hand some of the amazing artefacts and of course DIPPY!!!!
