Year 4 Norse Art
Viking art, also known commonly as Norse art, is a term widely accepted for the art of Scandinavian Norsemen and Viking settlements further afield—particularly in the British Isles and Iceland—during the Viking Age of the 8th-11th centuries CE.
Year 4 completed a wonderful Art & Design project over a few weeks this Summer term. Following their Viking topic, they studied Norse Art, designed their own symbol, carved it in polystyrene board to make a printing plate. They then sewed their own Viking purse and printed their symbol in ink on the front.
Well done year 4s!
