Year 6 - WW2 Day

Today the children in year 6 are dressed for school in what they would have worn during WW2. Year 6 are studying, Total War, as their Topic. They made pancakes using rations and a lady called Dinky, who was an evacuee during WW2, came in to talk to the children about her experiences! The children were in awe! Dinky, was an evacuee and spoke about what it was like to be evacuated during the Second World war. She was evacuated to the seaside town of Exmouth in Devon. She had a lovely host family and was billeted with a girl from school. The children asked some great questions and were enthralled with her memories. The experience for the children is invaluable. Thank you to Dinky for giving up your time and giving the children such a detailed insight to how they would have lived during WW2.
